Ruchi has worked in the Hindi film industry for the past ten years. Last year saw her directorial debut KAL-Yesterday & Tomorrow receive tremendous critical acclaim at several film festivals across the world. It also won the Critics Award at the Osian Cinefan Film Festival in the Asian Competition, in New Delhi 2005. For this film, Ruchi raised all the money herself, through independent investors, she retained total creative control of the film, thus making it the first truly independent commercial film ever made in India .
In 2006 she won a Film Fare Award and a Zee Cine Award for co-writing Hazaaron Khwahishein Aisi, an Indo-French Production, directed by Sudhir Mishra. She has also been an Associate Director for Calcutta Mail starring Anil Kapoor, Rani Mukherjee and Manisha Koirala. In 1999, She wrote a film in English called Snip, directed by Sunhil Sippy. She later wrote and directed a thriller TV serial of 50 episodes titled Talaash, starring Simone Singh for the Sahara channel. She also wrote a daily soap for Doordarshan called Nyay, which had resurrected the DD Metro channel.
Ruchi has just completed editing Sudhir Mishra's Khoya Khoya Chand and will begin editing a short fiction film that she has directed.
Ruchi started Rewind Films in 2003, and in three years they have produced a feature film, a music video for Sony Music, and is currently producing it's first documentary – In The Pink.
ASHIMA NARAIN

Ashima researched, directed the first ever documentary made on the flamingos of Mumbai. She also shot a large part of the film. For In The Pink, both Ruchi and she raised the money themselves by taking on commercial projects, and channeling it into the production. She is a respected professional photographer who lives in Mumbai. In 2004, she won the Commonwealth Photographer of the year for Asia.
She completed her B.A. (Hons) in History, in Mumbai, after which she attended the Surrey Institute of Art & Design, in England for a B.A. in Photography. She has exhibited her work in London, Helsinki, Munich, Muscat, Mumbai, Goa and New Delhi.
She was the principal photographer for India's leading men's lifestyle magazine, Man's World, where she diversified her portfolio from fashion to portraiture, travel and spot news. She has shot countless actors, celebrities and people's portraits for Elle, Femina, L'Officiel, Indian Express, Teen People (U.S.A), Die Ziet (Germany) and covers for Man's World and Cosmopolitan. Recently, she has given up a lot of her advertising work to pursue documentary and wildlife stories, which have appeared in Frontline and The Hindu.
In 2003, Ashima became the production designer for the feature film KAL– Yesterday & Tomorrow. She also took all the photographs that appear in the film and the publicity stills.
She has shot for several film posters. Her portfolio ranges from shooting celebrity portraits, album covers for all the Indian Idol contestants to lions in Gir, orangutans in Borneo to ad campaigns for Hutch, Blender's Pride, Raymond, Incredible India and Amitabh Bachchan for UNICEF.
She has also written several articles for Man's World and Outlook Traveller. She is currently Photo Editor of Time Out Mumbai.
JERRY PINTO
Narration / Scriptwriter
Jerry Pinto brings the skill of twenty-four years of writing to The Last Dance. He has worked in several media, including writing for television, the internet, newspapers and magazines. He has edited several anthologies and has also written the narration for In The Pink – a documentary on Mumbai's flamingos. He is the Honorary Executive Secretary of a non-governmental organization that fights for the rights of rural and tribal children.

Archit edited In The Pink. He has edited short films, ad films, music videos and recently co –edited Sudhir Mishra's Khoya Khoya Chand. He had been the associate editor for a number of feature films such as Ruchi Narain's KAL – Yesterday & Tomorrow, Rajat Kapoor's Bheja Fry, and a Malaysian Feature film titled Diva. He has previously worked on Chameli as the assistant editor.
ALLWIN REGO
Sound Designer
Allwin worked on the acclaimed Dombivili Fast as a Sound Designer. He has also worked on Main Hoon Na, Being Cyrus and Main, Meri Patni Aur Woh as a Sound Editor, and on Dubai Return as the Music Editor.
SNEHA KHANWLKAR
Music Director
Twenty-one year old Sneha is the youngest music director in 'Bollywood' today. She has composed the title song of KAL-Yesterday & Tomorrow and the entire background score. Sneha is currently working on several other Hindi film projects, with Anurag Kashyap and Ram Gopal Verma. |
